Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre / Tunbridge Wells

Project History

An £11 million upgrade is currently underway inside the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre in Tunbridge Wells.

The renovation started in the autumn of 2019 and involves replacing the flooring throughout the centre, new seating areas, bespoke rooflight features and an artwork inspired by Tunbridge Wells’ heritage to be created by a local designer.

Project Scope

Determine live electrical cables within existing terrazzo tiled floor slab on the lower and upper malls prior to breaking out tiles and screed to make up the levels for over tiling.

Solution

LDM carried out over 200 grid scans to existing terrazzo tiles floor slab to areas highlighted by the client to determine live cables to the upper and lower malls. A report was produced with overlay of scans on to MC drawings highlighting areas where live buried cables were detected.
