Project Scope
Undertake 3D scans of the existing concrete string courses and top of parapet upstands on both sides of the bridge structure.
Objective
Mark up existing reinforcement to allow safe drill positions for extension of parapet edge beam.
Solution
LDM scanned the inner face of each parapet down to the deck and the top surface of the parapet to both sides of the structure to establish rebar diameter, cover and spacing using the Hilti PS1000X-scan and PS200 Ferroscan.
The scanning allowed the project team to mark out the reinforcement prior to drilling the fixings for the new post positions avoiding hitting any reinforcement.
