Project Scope
New stairwells are to be formed within the existing slabs on levels 8 & 9. The existing slab is post tensioned and are marked up on the soffit of the slabs, however, the contractors should also scan the slabs to confirm the locations of the tendons and reinforcement prior to carrying out any structural modifications such as drilling or cutting.
Objective
Undertake non-destructive testing to the existing concrete slab to determine Post tension cable and reinforcement layout using Hilti PS1000X-Scan to levels 8 and 9.
Solution
Survey scan existing slabs using Hilti PS1000X-Scan in grid mode stitching scans together to determine PT cable and reinforcement layout. Quick scans were performed to determine PT cables to allow mark up the PT cables on to the slab.
